This recording has been made with the conviction of playing sound and improvising from a certain point or criteria, that was a distance between two sounds.
Although we play several different intervals, the idea was to focus on just one (except thirds, that are two) each time, from closer ones (minor seconds) to octaves.
We also did it in duos, trios or quartet in order to get a whole nicer picture of the album, as sound.
In some tracks, before start improvising, we prearranged a little bit as a matter of when things will happen, where things should appear (close or far away) intentions, etc. For example, in "perfect octave hits" is the drummer who is directing the music cueing us each hit we play with octaves on our harmonic instruments. At the end, but a coda came out naturally.
I can see how important are intervals in music, because its own frequency defines the inner architecture of a chord either a melody line, having a very deep repercussion on the register of wich instrument plays it and as a consequence of that: the timber.
The idea to improvise focusing on intervals, makes this document very special to me.
