(CAT) Aquests dos músics amb amplia trajectòria i experiència en infinitat de projectes diversos fa anys que es coneixen, però més enllà de tocar informalment en algunes sessions no ho havien fet mai en un projecte comú tot i que les ganes fa molt temps que existien. Frederic Mompou i Béla Bartók han resultat ser el catalitzador d'aquesta trobada. Sergi Sirvent, com a pianista & compositor, ja des de la seva etapa d’estudiant s’ha sentit molt afí en l’obra d’aquests compositors i en la forma d’entendre la música. Viñolas, per la seva banda, des de fa uns anys s’ha sentit atret per la corrent estètica de finals del segle XIX i XX, el que l´ha portat a descobrir aquests compositors que el van captivar des del primer moment. Des del respecte i admiració que tenen ambdós de l’obra d’aquests compositors, el duet s´ha embarcat a rellegir algunes de les seves peces i imprimir-hi la seva visió particular mitjançant el llenguatge del jazz i la improvisació.

(ENGLISH) These two musicians with extensive experience in many different projects met long ago. They shared music in some informal sessions from time to time but they never really shared a common project. Now, Frederic Mompou and Béla Bartók turns out to be the catalyst for this meeting. Sirvent, as a musician & composer has always felt very close to these composers by the way they understood music. Viñolas has in the past few years felt really attracted to the aesthetic trends of the late XIX & XX centuries, finding out the music of these composers who captivated him from the beginning. The confluence and vision that both artists have of the work of these composers has led them to perform and arrange some of their pieces printing their particular vision through the language of jazz and improvisation.
